I hope that you'll indulge me in one more Dashiell post this week. I'm certainly feeling nostalgic thinking of this past year and how teeny Dash used to be. With every month it seems that I'm just getting used to the idea of having...a two month old....a six month old....a ten month old....but before it's completely reflexive suddenly Dashiell is a month older. And so now I have a one year old. A toddler! I have a toddler, people! That's going to take a while to sink in. Of course he will always be our baby but it doesn't feel... Read more →
Dashiell month by month
Happy FIRST birthday to my little Dashiell-llama! I am so filled with love and gratitude for my healthy, happy son and for being his mama. One year ago today it was my due date and before the day was over I was holding my baby boy. What an incredible day and what an incredible year. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around it all. There were challenges and adjustments to be sure but what an incredible year. I'm taking the day off of work today to celebrate my sidekick and a year of motherhood. This morning Chris and I... In the past month I've noticed Dashiell become even more engaged in his surroundings. He notices so much and is always pointing things out to us with an emphatic "ba!". I see him building independence and getting frustrated when he can't have what he wants. He will also shake his head "no" when he doesn't want to eat food that we offer. This Sunday Dashiell turned 10 months old. He's been in the outside world now for a little bit longer than I carried him. Chris was out of town for the weekend but within an hour of his return Dashiell took his first tentative steps (!!). All he wants to do is walk; pushing his walker wagon, cruising on the sofa, holding your hands and leaning much too far forward while stepping as fast as his short legs will go. I think walking is what his little heart has been dreaming of since he was born. He's never liked to be... Read more →
Dashiell turned nine months on the ninth. It made me think about him turning nine years old one day. Which I sort of can't comprehend. What I'm remembering about Dashiell at nine months: + Crawls everywhere, pulls up on everything. + Loves to be "chased" by a crawling Chris who says, "I'm going to get you!". Dash laughs and crawls away as fast as possible. + Four teeth (two top and two bottom) with at least one more on the way + Loves to pull things out of things, like laundry out of the laundry basket or things out of...
