February Wrap Up
As the last week of February began I looked at my blog to see that I only posted once this month. I felt slightly annoyed at myself for a minute and then went to look at my calendar to see where all my time went last month: recording lots of podcasts so we're way ahead when the baby arrives, setting up two new rooms in the house (the boys' room and the baby room), and getting everything we need to welcome a baby. Looking through my pictures for the month also reminded me that it was a busy, fun, productive month. Just not productive for writing! Some months are like that. Especially months right before your baby is due - eep!
February goals update:
+ Set up a nursery. Yes! I love, love, love the room we've made for our baby girl. It's cheerful, bright, and functional just as I envisioned. Ever since we set up the glider chair I've been finding myself drawn to sit in the room. In fact, I'm writing this blog post from the nursery. :) We had the room painted, got new furniture (crib, glider chair, dresser) and decor, and Chris built two pieces for the room: a frame for an acrylic floor mirror and a little side table. The final task to complete is hanging curtains.
+ Set up the boys' new room. Yes! I'm so happy with their room. It's functional and welcoming and importantly the boys love it. There are still two relatively minor tasks to complete: hanging a big map on the wall (I dropped off the map to be laminated) and hanging curtains. I also want to put closet doors on the closet (I took them off years ago and no longer have the doors) but that's not a priority right now.
+ Catch up on taking photos of the boys' art work. In progress. I've sorted through all the art and discarded the things that don't need to be remembered. But still need to take photos.
+ Finish our 2019 family photo book. Also in progress. I'm about half way done.
Other February wins:
+ Organized a breakfast outing with moms on my street. Five of us went out to breakfast and it was delightful to spend time with the wonderful women and mamas who live so close to me.
+ Took the boys on the first grade hike in the Superstition Mountains.
+ Volunteered at the boys' school. I spent a morning volunteering in the library, presented an Art Masterpiece lesson in Dash's room, and volunteered for at the school's color run fundraiser.
+ Felt so loved and celebrated at a baby shower hosted by a dear friend.
+ Had a fun date night with Chris to the new location of 12 West Brewery and to see the violinist Itzhak Perlman perform.
I hope you had a lovely February!
