In my cart at Trader Joe's | RISING*SHINING

I'm having so much fun putting together these blog and Instagram posts. Thank you for following along and for sending your own recommendations. I have a running list of things to try and am definitely up for the job!

Now, let's hit the aisles at TJ's, and don't forget your reusable bags! Here's what's in my cart at Trader Joe's this week:

Mango Tangerine Scented Candle. I love a seasonal candle (obviously) and grabbed a few of these as soon as they hit the shelves at my store this summer. Seasonal candles have a habit of going fast and not coming back. I love that TJ's candles are soy wax. However, this is not my favorite scent. It's a little too sweet for me although I don't hate it and am still using it at home. The other day Erica commented that she thought it smelled a bit like the delicious Volcano candle. I think it's like a sweeter version of that so if you like fruity, sweet scents this might be for you. Bottom line: Like it/Pass.

Mini Dark Chocolate Mint Coins. AKA mini Thin Mints! There's even a badge on the package and lyrics for a song to the tune of On Top of Old Smokey. Trader Joe's marketing team: gold star. This is a new item and quickly dove into my cart. Although smaller and thinner than Thin Mints these will definitely satisfy the chocolate-mint craving if it's not cookie season. I think I still prefer the larger, thicker Thin Mints to these although do appreciate that these contain no trans fats, unlike Thin Mints. These made a fun dessert for the boys and would be excellent crushed and sprinkled on ice cream. Bottom line: Like it.

All For One, One For All Formula No. 3 Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash. Since starting to shop at Trader Joe's they seem to have been expanding their personal care line and I am here for it! I grabbed this big pump bottle (it's 20 ounces) when it hit shelves maybe a year or so ago (?) and it's been our shampoo and body wash ever since. I like the citrus-herbal bergamot scent and simplifying the number of bottles in the bath. I've found that I do still like to use a separate conditioner on my hair. Without conditioner this keeps my hair from tangling although a leaves it a little too squeaky clean feeling. The only caution about this product is that if you get it in your eyes it STINGS LIKE THE DICKENS  so I question the "one for all" and would recommend not using it on really little kids. Bottom line: Love it.

Reduced Guilt Chunky Guacamole. Oh Reduced Guilt Chunky Guacamole, how do I love thee? Let me count the ways. When I first bought this I was just looking for a tub of guac and didn't noticed the "reduced guilt" label. One taste and I didn't care how it was labeled. I just knew it was amazing guacamole. Made with Greek yogurt, this guacamole has a creamy texture but also boasts big chunks of avocado as well as tomato, jalapeno, and cilantro leaves. It looks homemade but as if Jamie Oliver made it. We eat this on bowls of beans and rice and scooped on top of lentil quesadillas or nachos. It's great with chips for snacking or as an appetizer. Bottom line: Love it.

Have you tried any of these? What's in your cart lately at Trader Joe's?
